Abstract

Generally speaking the knitted fabrics have better flexibility and bulking properties. Since the traditional wet coating processing can be only used in the woven fabrics, cannot apply in the knitted ones, the limitation of fabric would narrow the market.

The major purpose of this research is to use the antibacterial agents and anti-ultraviolet ray agents within PU resin to prepare the antibacterial / anti-ultraviolet ray breathable fabrics by using the moisture response reactive-hot melt adhesive laminating technology. The experimental

conditions includes the fabric typesȐNylon and PETȑ, the PU resin types, the

kind of antibacterial agents, the kind of anti-ultraviolet ray agents, and the coating conditions and so on. These results show that the humidity can reach to 8000g/m2/day which is higher than 2000~3000 g/m2/day of dry coating type or 4000~5000 g/m2/day of other wet coating types. We hope that we can get the high-quality breathable fabrics of antibacterial and anti-ultraviolet ray using the laminating technology. With these research results, we can make the better recipes and working conditions for the small amount production and the stable reference conditions for manufacturing. Moreover, these high

performances of antibacterial and anti-ultraviolet ray breathable fabrics maintain the competitive advantage in high class of textiles.
