What Is a Good English Writing Teacher?
A good tree bears good fruit. A beautiful yard must have a gardener who always
takes scrupulous care of the flowers and plants. A student who is good at English
writing must have a diligent teacher in his or her learning process. However, in
Taiwan, plenty of students’ English writing has been suffering. This is not because
they do not have talents for English writing, but because they all cannot get rid of the
ways of writing Chinese compositions. Therefore, it is urgent to have a great teacher
to help students cross this hurdle. For this reason, the teacher chosen to take this
mission must have three conditions: to prepare well for the lesson, to satisfy students’
needs, and to evaluate students’ performance.
First of all, arranging the class before teaching is the basic responsibility for
every teacher. This step not only helps a teacher control the quality of the content
efficiently, but also aid students in organizing easily all ideas which their teacher gives.
That is, if a teacher has decided the content for the next class, he or she has to know
what knowledge is going to be presented to the students, and then go through the
direction of this class step by step. In addition, each plan must be the relevant, or

good writing teacher is definitely needed. They must present a variety of questions
about English writing. At this time, the role of the teacher will become the resource,
which resolves students’ doubts, or a helper for them to find out the answer by
themselves. As an illustration, students might always confuse the writing structure
between English and Chinese. According to this question, the teacher can explain the
biggest difference is that English style emphasizes the organization. The writer has to

paragraph, the teacher can give praise with details. This part cannot be ignored
because students will be encouraged and their confidence in English writing will grow.
In the next paragraph, there could be some suggestions for pupils. In this part, it is
better to point out, with more detail, the incorrect parts students make instead of just
correction marks, because it will be helpful for students to know where and what their
weaknesses are. Therefore, a feedback will be more valuable, not just a score, which
