An esperienced administratoq Mr O'Brien has spent most of
hisworking life as an administrator in various educational
institutions in the United Kingdom, including the first 20 years
of the University of Bath, a technological university granted
its Royal Charter in 1966.

of an institution allcays depends upon the quality of its
graduates. Therefore, as an Admissions Officer, it is essential
to help attract the most able students available at both the
undergraduate and postgraduate levels. ,
"For the past 2 years, I have been working for the British
Council in Hong Kong as the Education Counsellor. In this role,
I have interviewed some 1500 local students on behalf of the
British universities and polytechnics. l 4 s a result, I have a
fairly good knowledge of the educational system of Hong Kong and
I can contribute that I;no\;ledge to assist in the building of a
quality student body at HIXST."
