A lot of researches have proven that health education can help patients to maintain and improve their health. And it also shortens the time staying in hospital to save medication resource. Because the patients are willing to get healthcare knowledge to enhance the ability of self-care, they pay more attention to the health education. In addition, as to clinic nurses the health education to patients plays an important role in their daily work. Hence they need a good tool to help performing patient education. In this study, we attempted to establish a computer-aided system to automatically generate an individual health education document suitable for different patients by integrating the databases for disease, medicine and nursing knowledge. This system was evaluated by clinic nurses in both usability and feasibility domains. The results revealed that this computer-aided system satisfied the nurses to give the clinic health education to patients. This system will be a good tool to generate appropriate and individual health education contents and helpful to assist patient education works.
