Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore learning outcomes in the course of caring care
with six core-values in nursing students. It was to understand nursing students in the learning
abilities of
general nursing skills, general basic medical science, problem finding and
improvement, respecting life and caring, commitment and team work capability, and self
development.
The method of this study was pre-experimental design to use pre-test and
post-test in single group. The sample of this study was non-random sample with total 45
nursing students attending in the course of caring care. The tool of this study was used a
self-design questionnaire to the course evaluation of caring care with six core-values. The
questionnaire consistent reliability was found Cronbach's a coefficient 0.95.
The study
analysis was used SPSS14.0 count software approach for quantitative analysis and the content
analysis approach for qualitative analysis.
The results of this study were found:
(1 )after
attending the course of caring care, nursing students have examined in the pre-test of course
between 2.53-3.51 points, the post-test of course between 3.49-4.27 points, and the average of
post-test reducing pre-test between 0.55-1.20 points (P<O.OO 1). (2) after attending film teaching,
nursing students have examined in the pre-test of course between 2.60-3.76 points, the post-test
of course between 3.31-4.47 points, and the average of post-test reducing pre-test between
0.56-0.97 points (P<O.OOl). (3) after attending the course of caring care with six core-values,
nursing students have examined in the pre-test of course between 2.66-3.34 points, the post-test
of course between 3.56-4.11 points, and the average of post-test reducing pre-test between
0.68-0.97 points (P<O.OOl). (4) after attending film teaching with six core-values, nursing
students have examined in the pre-test of course between 2.63-3.44 points, the post-test of course
between 3.39-4.22 points, and the average of post-test reducing pre-test between 0.69-0.91 points
(P<O.OOl).
The qualitative analysis was found positive points and negative points. In positive
points, nursing students have studied to the things of caring importance, with patient's whole
heart, empathy, emotional control, interpersonal relationships, promoting the ability of patient
care, and caring oneself and others skills. In negative points, nursing students also have not
studied to the things of medical treatment, and relatively have no experiences of practical
operation. The conclusion of this study was nursing students accepted the course of caring care
with six core-values showing the learning outcomes of different significance. In the future, the
suggestions will be revised the course of caring care, and hope that learning outcomes of pre-test
and post-test in the course of caring care as direction revised course development.
