Kentish Plovers are a common bird to see in Taiwan. They live on beaches, at river mouths, and in wetlands. They live on small insects and fish. Kentish Plovers will stand quietly looking around for food. When they see something, they will quickly run to it and grab it with their beaks. They will then stand quietly again looking for their next meal. Different from many other birds, Kentish Plovers usually stay in one place during a year instead of going south during the winter months.

About 18 cm long, Kentish Plovers are medium-sized birds. They have long legs to help them walk in shallow water quickly. They have short necks, black beaks and brown feathers. Although Kentish Plovers leave their nests very early, they still need their parents to feed and take care of them for a long time.

Every year there are new inventions to make our lives better. However, not all inventions do well. Time Magazine made a list of those inventions that, while looking great at the time, did not do as well as people hoped.

One of these inventions is the CueCat which appeared in the late 1990s. This cat-shaped bar- code scanner was made in hopes it could connect the Internet to things we bought. For example, if you bought a magazine with a bar code, you could use that bar code to find more information about the magazine using the CueCat. However, people never saw there was a need and did not use it.

Staying in stores for just six months, Virtual Boy had the shortest life of anything Nintendo has ever made. It was made to let people play games in 3D. However, it was hard to see its 3D effect, did not have many games and, being so expensive, many people could not afford it.

With so many inventions being made every year, it should not be surprising that some do not work out. You just never know what will work until you try.

However, after about ten seconds, they just heard the man speak in a very calm voice, “Well… there are only three things that I know are able to make a strange sound like this. One is a goose, another is a snake, and the other is a stupid person. Please come out to show us which one you are.” After that, everybody began to clap, and the student walked out embarrassingly.
