President's Advisory Board Established at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technologv
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology today announced the establishment of an international “President’s Advisory Board”.
According to Professor Chia-Vei Voo, Vice-Chancellor and President of the new university, “The purpose of the Board is to advise me on new visions and academic directions-- to keep the University’s leadership informed on worldwide mega-trends in technology and management, and to counsel the L’niTversity on academic planning that is consistent with these mega-trends. To accomplish the above, we are bringing together probably the most
illustrious group of advisors known to universities anywhere.”
The Board xi11 initially comprise thirteen members, ten international and three local. The ten international members include top science officials, distinguished academics , and leading industrialists from countries and regions which interact strongly with Hong Kong. The three local members are prominent business and commun’ity leaders who
