課程宗旨:比較宗教是宗教研究建立初期時的主要視野,隨著宗教研究理論以 及方法的多元發展,為何比較以及如何比較等問題也成為需要進一部反思的課 題。在後現代哲學對於差異的關注之中,比較研究受到強烈的質疑,但也有學者 從這樣的批判中積極尋找比較研究的新的可能性。本課程將從理解宗教
(understanding religion)、解釋宗教(explaining religion)與批判取徑(critical
approaches in the comparative study of religion)等三個面向來討論比較宗教的相關 辯論、理論與方法等議題,並以研究實例的討論來提升博士生對比教宗教研究領 域之問題意識以及在地脈絡化思考的能力。
課程要求
(一) 上課前事先研讀當週閱讀指定材料,課中積極參與討論。
(二) 選擇六次上課閱讀資料撰寫兩頁之閱讀報告或是問題,於當週上課時繳交,
並於課堂提出討論。
(三) 期末報告:學期末繳交有關比較宗教主題的報告一篇,字數約為一萬兩千
字,可以是主題研究,或是相關文獻之review。希望同學從期初或期中就開始跟
老師討論預撰寫之主題,期中開始會陸續安排同學在課堂上發表初步構想。
上課方式
每次上課由同學報告當次閱讀指定材料,報告同學同時負責擬定課程討論問題
大綱,每位同學報告時間以不超過20 分鐘為原則。
評分標準
課堂出席與討論:20%
口頭報告(請準備書面摘要):20%
平時作業:30%
期末研究計劃報告:30%
