Journal Meetings for papers in Occupational Therapy

 Course Description

This 1-credit-course will enrich students’ knowledge and understanding of characteristics of occupational therapy (OT). Specifically, the pathology, symptoms, prognosis, and evaluation and treatment outcome of people in need of OT will be focused and explored. It is to increase the students’

depth of understanding of characteristics of OT. This will be achieved by the readings and discussion from the updated journal articles.

 Course Objectives

The students will increase the depth of their understanding regarding OT.

The students will perform the ability to analyze the various characteristics of cases who are in need of OT services, provided in the course, and list the main problems, appropriate evaluation tools or methods.

The students will try to list the potential treatment goals, plans, and relevant treatment programs, based on the main problems and evaluation outcome listed.

 Grading

Guiding questions: 8/13 × 5 + 10 = 50 %

Final exam: 20 %

Presentation: 20 %

Learning Attitude: 10 %
