A Study of Pioneer Family in the Qing Dynasty: Wun, Jhao-Wang family in Sanwan as an example
Ching-Ting Liao Abstract
"The history of land reclamation " is an important topic in Taiwan's history.
Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli has a rich history of Han ethnic groups entering the inner mountain area. The article explores Wun Jhao-Wang( ) family Land Reclamation and landowners manages land. This article will combine the two concepts of "Land Reclamation of the inner mountain area" and "Family History" to explore the establishment and evolution of the Da Tong Luo Cyuan( ) and the development of the Wun Jhao-Wang family from the mainland to the Jhonggang
River( ).
This article first describes the time and space distribution of the Wun family from the mainland's native land to Taiwan, and then discusses in detail of the Wun family in the the Jhonggang River. Secondly, this article introduces the process of the Han ethnic groups entering the Jhonggang River, and explores the situation in which the Wun Jhao-Wang family took over landowner and maintained social order.
This article finds that Wun Jhao-Wang and his brother Wun Jhao-Cian( ) crossed the sea to Taiwan, and together with Wun Dian-Yu( ) family . In 1826, Wun Fu-Ming( ) was sent to the frontier by the influence of the fight between the Min( ) and the Yue( ) in Jhonggang River, but his son Wun Ke-Rang( ) led the family to get out of the predicament. In 1831, he entered the Da Tong Luo Cyuan. In 1844, he successfully served as a landowner in the Da Tong Luo Cyuan.
In 1847, he also set up a contract with Chen Huei-He( ) to show that the Wun Jhao-Wang family was recognized by the national government and local forces. Its
"Legal Identity"( ) was established.
