Arpan learned Hindi at a young age, and then went on to learn French, Spanish, Italian, and German at school. However, Arpan, whose teachers describe him as a language genius, was not content to just learn European languages as part of his schooling. With the aid of language-learning CD ROMS, he has taken on languages from Asia and even two very difficult languages of Africa.

In addition to his talent for language, Arpan has quite a talent for music as well. In fact, his teachers believe that it is his good ear for music that has helped him with the precise pronunciation of different languages – especially with a tonal language like Mandarin.
