兩者間程度相當時的比較
1. 肯定句
A＋be 動詞＋as＋形容詞原級＋as＋B＋be動詞）
.
A像B一樣…。
例：My friend is as short as I (am).
（我的朋友跟我一樣矮。）

＋B（＋be動詞）.
A不像B一樣…。
例：My friend is not as short as I (am).

1 同類比較
His bag is as new as my bag.=mine
John’s book is as old as Mary’s …..(O)
因為Mary’s book =Mary’s
John’s book is as old as Mary…..(x)

2. 所有格代名詞和所有格相同者:
whose, his, 人名‘s

as…as… 用於動物譬喻
as...as... 在英文的表達中，也常運用一些 鮮明的動物及其特徵作為比喻。

(3) as slow as a snail / turtle
（像蝸牛 / 烏龜一樣慢吞吞）
4) as wise as an owl（像貓頭鷹一樣聰明）
