在醫學資訊發展的過程中，醫學資料高度數位化已經成為主流，由於臨床上醫學單一型
態的資料常無法成為一個有意義的醫學資料，並且因應醫學資料豐富性及完整性的要求
， Video 、 Image 及 Text 等不同型態的媒體格式常結合於成為同類別的醫學資料。近 幾年來由於網際網路之快速成長，各種醫學資料以 web 的方式呈現。然傳統 Internet 描 述資料的方式無法整合不同的資料格式，更遑論代表完整的醫學意義之資訊，就權限之 描述亦有困難。為提供具有醫學意義的資料存取方式，本研究制定 UMRL(Uniform Med ical Resource Locator) 通訊協定，並建立了類別化醫療資源定位系統 (Categorized Medica l Resource Locator System, CMRLS) ，整合分散在各處不同檔案格式之醫學資料。在此 機制下，每筆資料將以資源名稱予以命名 (Naming) ，並透過類別 (Category) 區分方式 存取不同醫學資料集合、以物件導向 (Object-Oriented) 的技術包裝所需的醫學資料成為 醫學資料集合，並且能夠動態將所需要的資料依照依所需之方式來取得，以賦予取得的 醫學資料具有醫學診斷研究上的實質意義。由於 UMRL 將傳統代表真實資料位置的 UR L 改為以邏輯上的醫學名稱代表，除了將醫學資料集合轉為具有實際醫學資料的集合外
，並且依此觀念為基礎建立一個具有高移動性 (Mobility) 、高適應性 (Scaleable) 、高可 性賴度 (Reliability) 、高彈性化的 (Flexibility) 、高可存取性 (Flexibility) 及高容許失敗度 (Fault-tolerant) 的叢集 Web Server (Web Server Cluster) ，醫學資料透過 CMRLS 傳遞無 疑是取得資料的利器，將此架構運用在臨床教學及治療上，更能發揮醫學資源在 Intern et 上運用之極致。

In the development of medical informatics, highly digitalization of medical data has become t he main stream. Due to the demand of plentiful and complete medical data, many different typ es of media format, such as video, image and text, are integrated in the same category of medi cal data. Because of the rapid progress of Internet technology, more and more medical data ca n be accessed by the public through the Internet. However, the data description methods used i n Internet cannot combine various medical data formats, and thus those methods are not meani ngful. Because a single format and category data don’t have complete meaning in the clinical medicine. For example, let us consider a patient having liver cancer may has done CT, MRI an d abdominal sonography in different hospitals. His pathological image data alone cannot be co mplete medical data because without text report, we encounter the difficulties of setting author ity and description. This system has a function that integrates different formats of medical data into a meaningful medical data. Under this system, each data will be named by its resource na me and different medical data will be sorted by category and be combined by the technology o f collection and object-oriented. The data will be accessed dynamically by the methods mentio ned above which make it is meaningful in medical diagnosis research. This system is called C ategorized Medical Resource Locator System,, CMRLS. The web server cluster is built base o n the concept of is mobility, scalability, reliability, flexibility, high-accessibility and fault-toler ance 。
