I did two parts of researches when I was in center of theoretical science of National Cheng Kung University.

First part is about confirming the effect from Black hole to inflaton perturbation with a more rigorous way, namely Maldacena gauge. I used perturbation method, first to expand the black hole metric to the first order of black hole mass. Then, using Maldacena gauge to fix gauge. In the Lagrangian level, I did the first order perturbation for both scalar and tensor fields in this gauge in Lagrangian level. Although, the result is not published yet, I believe it will be completed after some discussion among all collaborators. Once it finished, this work can compare with my earlier calculation and see if the earlier work approximation is enough.

The second part is to realize my earlier calculation on Cosmic Microwave Background. So far, all papers about real CMB power spectrum assume that the primordial power spectrum of inflaton is homogeneous, therefore there is a delta function in the CMB power spectrum and this simplify whole integration, namely one needs to handle one momentum integration. My work is about how those cosmological defects during inflation would affect CMB observed now. That means there is no delta function to simplify the original two momentum integration. The difficulty of this work is that it involve two momentum integration. Now, the first result of the power spectrum has come out. It basically is an increasing power spectrum. Physically, we would take a cutoff on the momentum part, but this part is still under investigation. Also, I expect this work will be finished soon.

In December, I participated NCTS annual meeting, second LeCOSpa symposium and a workshop held in NCKU. I told to some participants in the meeting and learn more models about inflation. These models include string model, supersymmetry models and electro weak breaking models. And discussed with some physicists in the meeting. This help for clarifying some doubts in my work and provide me more ideas about inflation. It is bad that I can have seven months in NCKU, otherwise I can finish these work in NCKU. Anyway, I think NCKU still provide me a good

environment to do research.

Yes, Dr. Wang’s temporary position at NCKU was to bridge the time period before which she could apply for foreign postdoctoral positions of longer duration.

What are the methods, professional knowledge, and progress of the research, teaching, or R&D and management work?

Dr. Wang has learned how to compute the impact of cosmological defects on the cosmic microwave background using the first principles rather than an ansatz of dubious validity.

How have the research, teaching, or R&D and management results of the employed person given benefit to the project (or your unit)? Dr. Wang was able to work steadily on the project when I was distracted by teaching, and when I was abroad attending conferences and working with foreign collaborators.

How has the employed person, during his or her term of employment, benefited your unit or the relevant domestic academic field? Dr. Wang’s ambition encourages other junior researchers to devote their life/careers to deep theory in cosmology.

Final corrections to the power spectra from primordial black holes are still ongoing and we do not have the conclusive results yet.
