RN BsN Program

Sep. 2008 Course: Maternity Nursing and Women’s Health Care

Credit: Lecture: 2 credits (2 hours per week) Clinical laboratory: 2 credits (64 hours)

Prerequisites: Physical Assessment, Human Development, and Fundamental of Nursing Course description:

This course provides an introduction to the family-centered maternal nursing and women’s health care by using PBL ( problem based learning) as education strategy.

Course objectives:

On completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. Describe and discuss women’s health care through lifespan.

2. Describe current trends in maternity nursing.

3. Identify and describe the bio-psychological developmental patterns and its effect in the childbearing family.

4. Identify the physical and psychosocial factors that drive the woman (mother), fetus, newborn, or family at risks.

5. Design appropriate nursing interventions for women with diseases and their family.

6. Describe and discuss infertility.

Methodology of instruction:

團體報告應至少參考近三年與產科相關之文獻,中、英文雜誌至少各 2 篇,寫作之方式

請參考讀書報告,內容至多 3000 。交團體報告之時間為團體報告後 2 週,逾時每天

扣十分,超過一週不計分。
