Abstract
Children exposed to ETS has been the world all countries attach great importance to public health issues in Taiwan's domestic second-hand smoke exposure to children up to 50 ~ 70%. The purpose of this study to understand the school-age children before their parents for their children view smoking behavior, attitudes and behavior. In this study, qualitative research semi- structured individual interviews, in-depth interviews with parents of primary school children in Taipei city City, enrolled in school-age conditions of their perception of parental behavior in the presence of smoking, a total of 12
respondents. Content analysis of respondents subjective order descriptive data and found that smokers smoke in front of school-age children's views, attitudes and behavior included five major areas: smoking for the parents themselves the meaning of life, the impact of smoking on children family for smokers in front of the children's attitudes to smoking, smokers on the family's reaction to and attitude in front of the children of smokers smoking behavior. Smokers smoking in front of school-age children's views, attitudes and behavior by children, spouses and other family members affected, especially the children of smokers against the attitude of the more influential and present diversity. Will be affected by the attitude of family members of smokers, in some situations will still choose to smoke in school-age children; not affect family attitudes of smokers, while difficult to keep children in school-age before smoking behavior. Therefore, the family of the smokers smoke in front of school-age children, the impact of attitude can not be ignored. The results of this study will be more understanding of children of school age children before their parents for smoking in the opinions, attitudes and behavior, can provide families, schools, communities, tobacco control, the unit, as the future planning of the family focus of tobacco control policies promote and develop the legal reference.
