15.用雙波耦合(two-beam coupling)法研究鎖模用飽和吸收鏡特性(碩士生李 國庭)
半導體飽和吸收反射鏡 (saturable Bragg reflector ,SBR) 在我們設計的飛 秒級被動鎖模 Ti:sapphire 雷射建立的初期扮演了相當重要的角色。在這項工作 中,我們希望能應用 two beam coupling technique(TBC)高敏感度與良好訊噪比的 優點來觀察與模擬 laser pulse 在經過 SBR 後,其相位與波形所產生的變化。期 能從實驗中瞭解 SBR 在 cavity equation 裡所扮演的角色,並更加清楚的認知 SBR 的工作原理與設計方向。圖 15-1 即實驗裝置:
以樣品 K242 為例 ,結構為 17 層 DBR 上之單層量子井吸收層,吸收中心波 長為 810nm,提供高反射率頻譜範圍為 795nm~850nm,飽和能量密度(saturation fluence)為 131.42µJ/cm
2
。調整入射光的功率,可觀察 SBR 在不同能量密度 (lowfluence, near saturation fluence, high fluence)照射下,對脈衝波形與相位上的 影響。圖 15-2 及 15-3 分別是在入射光脈衝為 highly positively chirped 與 transform-limited 的情況下,所獲得的 TBC 實驗結果。由直觀上的判斷可發現雷射光源在經過 SBR 後的確在相位上產生變化。當 能量密度越高,SBR 所表現的就如同一面反射鏡。隨著能量密度降低,SBR 對 laser pulse 的影響越為明顯。除了相位外,我們推測在雷射波形在低能量的密度 下,因量子井參與吸收而訊號有所變化。此外,transform-limited 條件下的訊號 變化較 highly positively chired 條件下為大。這可以解釋為 SBR 本身所導致的 chirp parameter 的變化並不大,故在 highly positively chirped 條件所造成的影響有限,
反之亦然。
16.利用 SBR 的共振被動鎖模雷射之研究(碩士生陳哲聰)
這項工作的目的是結合 KLM 鎖模雷射與具腔內飽和吸收體(如 SBR)的被 動鎖模雷射的優點,使雷射可以輸出超短脈衝,波長可調諧,同時可以自起動
(self-starting)。雷射的結構如圖 16-1 所示:

此雷射在 KLM 模式下工作時,輸出脈衝寬最短約 73 飛秒,頻譜寬約 15 奈米。
且波長由 780-880 奈米都可以鎖模脈衝輸出(請參考圖 16-2)。
