1 第一作者自 1998 年起開始經歷電腦處理質性資料的相關議題,早期曾使用 Microsoft Excel 和 FileMaker Pro 處理資料,2000 年開始使用 QDA 軟體進行質性研究,

十年來使用過的 QDA 軟體及版本包括 Nud*ist 4、Nud*ist 5、NVivo 2、和 NVivo 8。第 二作者自 2004 年起使用 NVivo 2 進行研究,協助專案計畫以 NVivo 8 分析研究資料,

並以 NVivo 8 管理與分析其博士論文資料。

2在本文撰寫時(2010 年 4 月),NVivo 8 為最新版本,但 QSR 已預告 NVivo 9 將 於 2010 年 10 月上市。新版的介面設計會有變化,強調在功能的使用上更為方便。
