How are you? And how is your wonderful parrot, Cherry? I really enjoyed playing with Cherry when I visited you last month. After I got home, I asked my mother if I could have a parrot, too. But she said that keeping a bird in the house would be too much trouble. She thinks that I might forget to feed the bird or clean its cage. It’s a pity because I love birds so much.
However, I have another idea. Our neighbors have a small wooden birdhouse in a tree behind their house, and last spring there was a family of sparrows living in it. It was fun to go over and watch the mother sparrow feed the little ones. So, I’ve decided to make my own birdhouse and hang it outside my window. If I’m lucky, I’ll soon have my own family of cute sparrows to watch!
Do you know anything about building a birdhouse?
Love, Mary
