7.4 Forming Measures

Here we come down to the measures. The process of picking up measures is a difficult and long one. The BSC implementation is based on finding the lead measures, that gauge the activities, that are the drivers of the desired outcomes (gauged by lag measures). So, to see the drivers and control their efficiency, we need a set of lead and lag indicators together. Below is given an example of such a set of measures for the Internal perspective of the case-firm’s BSC both for the New Channel Strategy BSC in Table 6, and for the Niche Innovator Strategy BSC in Table 7:
