5.5 Limitation of this study and suggestions for future research and educational practices

In accordance with the results, insights, and conclusion above, this study put forward some suggestions, hoping that there will be more phase of research development in the future.

The courses in this study were limited to total of 90 hours session and total of 7 students for 2 classes, the teacher-researcher suggested more number of learning sessions in the future as case study to get more and further data or to be done in class with more number of students. With more students in classroom or more hours in courses, the researcher would be able to acquire more information, both qualitative and quantitative, to be studied and analyzed.

Should other research in the future employs the action research method as well, the teacher-researcher propounded class observation also done by other teachers as observers periodically and gathered feedback from them. Furthermore, recording every session would be better to make sure the more complete data collection, in addition of researcher’s notes, observation, and students’ feedback.

Students told the teacher-researcher that they had different learning styles.

Future teachers need to assess this and provide adaptive teaching carefully.

The instructional design created by the teacher-researcher, as shown in Appendix E would be developed with more explanation, examples, and translated into English version as well. After it’s compiled and completed, it would be expected organized into an Indonesian textbook that hoped to be beneficial for language learning classroom, specifically Indonesian language learning.

The Indonesian – Chinese translation by Google or other platforms are not completely accurate. There are mistakes on translation of words or phrase and even more mistakes on translation of sentences. The teacher-researcher would continue the work of online Indonesian – Chinese dictionary creation, and instead of using Google

Spreadsheet, for future development, could be created into the form of website or smartphone application. For further development, the dictionary also would be developed into Indonesian – Chinese – English dictionary and supplemented with word categories, word classes, and examples of how to use the word in a sentence.

When it’s completed, the online dictionary would be published so learners that interested in learning Indonesian language could use this dictionary as their learning resource. Furthermore, learners would also able to know the English translation of the words. As for Indonesian people, they could use this dictionary to learn Chinese and English. Generally, through this dictionary, people would be able to learn Indonesian, Chinese, and English vocabulary.
