New University Greets Public at Education and Careers Expo ‘92
Prospective students and the general public can .learn more about the new Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) through exhibits and seminars, 20-23 February, at the “Education and Careers Expo ‘92”. Jointly organised ’ .
t by the Trade Development Council and the Labour Department, the Expo will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and-Exhibition Centre. The University booth will open daily from IO:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., featuring exhibition panels and a video show on HKUST’s programmes, entrance requirements and facilities. University staff will be available at the. booth to answer questions throughout the operating hours. HKUST brochures, Chinese and English undergraduate prospectuses, and postgraduate handbooks will be available.
In addition, the University has organised a series of four seminars to introduce its four Schools to “Expo” visitors. On 21 February, at I:20 p.m., Dr Yuk-Shan Wong, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biology, will speak on “Introducing the Science Programme of HKUST”. At 3:40 p.m. on the same day, Mr Fred Castro, Director of Admissions, Registration and Records, and Dr Chi Cheung Choi, Lecturer in the Division of Humanities, will give a joint presentation entitled “General Introduction of HKUST”. Dr Dit-yan Yeung, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, will be the speaker for “Introducing the Engineering Programme of HKUST”, scheduled for .
.- I:20 p.m., 22 February. Rounding up the lecture series, Dr Danny Wong, Reader in the Department of Accounting, will speak on “Introducing the Business and Management Programme of HKUST” at I:20 p.m., 23 February. All seminars will be in Cantonese and will be held in the meeting rooms on the fourth floor of the Exhibition Centre. Staff from the University Admissions Office will be present during the seminars to answer all queries regarding admission to the University.
