Every day people throw away plastic products or garbage into the sea, and these sometimes end up flowing into the ocean and kill sea animals because they will eat the garbage. Fortunately, there is a new way to get garbage out of the ocean. People can clean the seas like the way they clean their homes: with a vacuum (吸塵器)-SeaVax and Seabins.

SeaVax is a kind of robot, which is still under research and development. When SeaVax finds garbage, it will suck up the garbage with its pump (幫浦). Moreover, the robot is equipped with sensors (感應器) which will shut off or scare the animals away to avoid hurting them.

When it comes to another vacuum, Seabins is already in use though it is smaller than SeaVax. It is a floating container, and its pump carries water into the container. So, the garbage enters the bag and only the water flows out.

These vacuums can help to clean up the oceans, but it’s better not to throw garbage in them. It is hard to avoid throwing away trash, but at least we can put them in garbage cans or recycle them. By doing so, we can protect not only those sea animals but also our environment.
