(hereinafter “the Work”) by the undersigned Author(s).

The Journal may edit and revise the Work in accordance with its customary standards and style, provided that no substantive changes may be made without the approval of the Author(s).

In consideration for ADEA’s publishing the Work, the undersigned grants to the American Dental Education Association exclusive first serial rights in and to the Work and its abstract. In addition, the undersigned grants ADEA the perpetual right, on a non-exclusive basis, to publish and reprint the Work and its abstract in subsequent editions of the Journal or in any collection, special publication, anthology, or other collective work ADEA may publish in the future, in print, electronic, and any other formats now unknown but hereinafter invented. Further, the author(s) assign(s) to the American Dental Education Association the exclusive right to file the material (including the final published manuscript) with PubMed Central, if the work is funded by the National Institutes of Health. The author(s) reserve(s) the right to file the material (including the final published manuscript) with other public access databases 12 months after the publication date in the journal. Any such filing by the author shall include the American Dental Education Association’s copyright notice.

In addition, the undersigned grants to ADEA the right to use his/her name, biographical information, and likeness, in connection with the publication and promotion of the Work.

The undersigned warrants that the Work is original, that he/she owns all rights, including copyright, to the Work, that nothing in the Work infringes upon the rights of any third party, that the facts contained therein are true or based upon reasonable research for accuracy, that nothing contained therein will be injurious to the health of the user, and that the Work has not been previously published. The undersigned shall indemnify the American Dental Education Association against all claims (including attorney’s fees) asserted against ADEA related to its use and reproduction of the Work.

ADEA reserves the right to return the manuscript for the Work to the undersigned Author(s) and thereby terminate this Agreement. If ADEA does not publish the Work within one year of the date of this Agreement, or if ADEA ceases all its publication programs before publishing the Work, all rights in the Work shall revert automatically to the undersigned and this agreement shall be considered null and void.
