摘要

Abstract

Primary carcinoma of the fallopian tube is the least common malignant neoplasm of the female reproductive tract, accounting for 0.18% to 1.6% of all malignancies.1-3

Approximately 8% of tubal carcinomas are confined to the fimbriae.4 Because of its low prevalence, fallopian tube carcinoma is rarely diagnosed before surgery. Recently, ultrasonography has been recommended for the preoperative detection of fallopian tube carcinoma.5-8 In this report, we present a case of fallopian tube carcinoma arising in the fimbriae and describe ultrasonographic features that should raise the possibility of that diagnosis.
