About the cover Statistics plays an important role in contemporary society.
Because citizens must make decisions on the basis of numerical information, they need to develop a critical attitude toward the use of mathematics in society. Answering this need, statistics has gained a prominent place in mathematics education.
Readers are encouraged to submit color photographs or slides of students involved in secondary school mathematics for possible use on the cover. Submissions of mathematics-based artwork by students are also welcome.
