The purpose of this study was to understand the relevance of leisure participation and the quality of life of the retired elderly。It will provide as the reference for leisure participation of the retired elderly。We take subject study。 The survey method was to collect questionnaire，including：The Leisure Participation questionnaire，Quality of life scale (WHOQOL-BREF) and SF-36 questionnaire。It was to collect
questionnaire data got 251 valid effective samples。The data was analyzed with the help of the software SPSS 12.0 for windows。We use the descriptive statistics，T-test、One Way ANOVA、Multivariate
Analysis 、Pearson’s Correlation and Stepwise Regression to analyze。
The major findings of the study are as follow：
(1)For elderly retired，the content of leisure is to brew tea and drink tea；the most popular types of leisure are「social-type」 and「static-type」。
(2)The quality life of the retired elderly are middle-level。
(3)Educational background，residential conditions，the income after retiring，retired years，these factors have a significant difference in physical domain，psychological domain，social relationship domain and environment domain of WHOQOL-BREF。
(4)Sporty-type and Social- type of leisure participation have a significant difference in WHOQOL-BREF。
(5) Educational background，residential conditions，the income after retiring, retired years，these factors have a significant difference in bodily pain，social functioning，general health and role emotional of SF- 36。
(6)Sporty-type，Social-type，Hobby-type，Knowledge-type，these factors have a significant difference on construct of SF-36。
