Times to Equilibriums for Finite Markov Chains

Abstract

In this talk we will review briefly some advanced techniques for bounding mix- ing times for (finite, irreducible) reversible Markov chains. These techniques were developed mainly by David Aldous, Persi Diaconis and Laurent Saloff-Coste. Some interesting examples will also be introduced and discussed in detail if time permits.
