Digital Image Processing Proposal

Group seven, Che-Wei Liang, Tse-Ju Lin, Chieh-Yen Lin

(1) Motivation

One day afternoon, we group seven surfed the Internet together, and we saw a beautiful image …

We were so excited for imaging that our image combined with some meaningful text more than just binary number, zero and one. For example, if we want to show our admiration for a beautiful girl and we know that she loves penguins very much, we can combine them together refer to the image above …

Dear sweet girl,

I found myself fell in love with you since the first sight I saw you. I die when your eyes closed;

I resurrected when your eyes open.

It didn't matter whether you remember me or not. You will fall in love with me when you look at me concentratively.

I think that I should introduce myself to you. My name is Chieh-Yen, 20 years old. I am a good person in NTU CSIE. I exercise every day, so that I am strong enough to protect you.

I know you like penguins, this picture stands for my passionate heart for you.

Our program will check every pixels in each blocks (e.g. 8*8) in order to find the maximum frequency value in the block (i.e. a block means a character), and replace the color of each character in love letter with the maximum frequency value.

Finally, the image help us successful capture the heart of our beloved girl.

(2) Support Function

1. Containing basis mode converting into binary or advanced mode converting into the text you input.

All you have to input is one image and one text about what you want to say, then our program will automatically generate it.

2. Containing GUI to control the process of running time.

3. Containing the calendar mode, if you want to get the calendar containing your loved image, our program could help you.

(3) Implement Method

In one word, we will use only C/C++ to implement our project, and we will finish our work by following procedures:

1. Resize each character to proper size.

2. Adjust the paragraph to fit the image.

3. Choose proper color for each character.

4. Replace pixels by the characters.

5. Output the image.

We will rearrange each word in the input text properly. Then we can make a paragraph to fit the size and shape of input image. We also want to develop a statistical way to determine proper color of each character, each character only in a color. We hope our method can make our output looks like the original input.

(4) Potential Perplexity

The first problem we maybe counter is the GUI about our program. We don’t have the experience to implement the GUI of C/C++. It is a great challenge.

It is a good training about control a lot of methods calling each other.
