 The assessment paper comprises tasks or activities to ensure that major aspects of learning and teaching are covered and facilitate integrative use of the language.

 The activities are appropriately contextualised and related to learners’ experiences and prior knowledge.

 Adequate use of different text types is considered.

 Open-ended questions are set in the reading tasks to stimulate critical thinking and creativity.

 Assessment mode is not confined to pen-and-paper only.
