五倍子主要應用於收澀之效用，可治療久咳、久痢、久瀉、多汗、便血、崩漏等作用，藥材來源主要為角倍蚜蟲或倍蛋蚜蟲 在其寄生樹上形成之蟲癭，由於寄生之樹種不同且角倍蚜蟲及倍蛋蚜蟲所產生蟲癭之採收季節亦有所差別，因此本計劃針對 市場品進行調查，比較其品質之間是否有所差異，除了外形外，並進行乾燥減重、灰分、酸不溶性灰分、稀乙醇及水抽出物 等項目，以及其 T.L.C.指紋圖譜之比較。而五倍子的成分含有大量的單寧酸，藥理報告對金黃色葡萄球菌等具有抑菌或抗菌 作用，因此計劃中也利用瓊脂紙錠擴散法(disc agar diffusion method)及兩倍連續稀釋試驗法(serial two fold dilution method)測 得抑制金黃葡萄球菌生長的劑量，決定其最小抑制濃度 (minimal inhibition concentrations ，MICs)加以探討各市售品對抗金 黃色葡萄球菌之活性。計劃期間共收集了台北縣市 23 個樣品，結果顯示市售品幾乎為角倍，在五倍子的品質管制上有些差 異，在成分比較上則較呈相似性，經由本計劃之結果對台灣地區所採用之五倍子的品質有更進一步之了解。
• 英文摘要
Galla Rhois is an astriction drug. It is used in the treatment of both spontaneouus sweating, and night sweating, persistent cough, enduring diarrhea efflux desertion, seminal emission, seminal efflux, copious urine, enuresis, bleeding, uterine bleeding, and
persistent vaginal discharge. The Galla Rhois is a result of the stings of certain plant lice (Melaphis chinensis Bell. or Melaphis paitan Tsai et Tang)from Anacardiaceae plant (Rhus chinensis Mill.). The Galla Rhois are rich in tannin, and it had antibacterial active or inhibition report. In this report, we collected the galla Rhois samples from Taipei Chinese drug market. The samples compared these drug？H？Hs quality control (ash, water extraction or T.L.C. and H.P.L.C finger printer etc.) and antibacterial activity (disc agar
diffusion method and serial two fold dilution method). In this report, we collected 23 samples and that those samples had some difference in quality control (eg. Ash, acid insoluble ash and extraction). Those samples had similarity composition in
chromatography analysis and antibacterial activity.
