二十世紀美國史專題大綱

一、 教學目標
本課程擬以一學期的時限，以專題討論方式，增進學生對於二十世紀以來 美國史上重要議題的認知和了解。
二、 課程大綱：
本課程針對美國二十世紀所發生的重大事件，做專題性討論。目前所擬議題 如下：
1. the Progressive Movement 2. World War I and United States 3. the United States in 1920s
4. the Great Depression and the New Deal 5. World War II
6. the United States in the Cold War Era 7. the Reform and the Rebellion in 1960s 8. the United States and the Vietnam War 9. the Revival of Conservatism in 1980s 10. the Post-Cold War World
三、成績計算方式
開學最初兩週，由教師將二十世紀美國歷史的發展做一概論性綜合敘述分 析；每位學生須就自己的興趣，依序報告各個章節。最後兩週學生將以所 選擇主題，做較為深入而完整的研究，並繳交期末報告一份。學期成績以
平日上課表現及學期報告為評量標準，各佔50%。
另，本課程徴得中央研究院歐美研究所同意，在師資及研究資源上提供協 助。必要時，上課時間地點將配合歐美所的活動。
