In 1916, the most influential work of Ferdinand de Saussure (1857/11126 -1913/2/22), Cours de linguistique generate, published posthumously by former students on the basis of notes taken from Saussure's classroom lectures at the University of Geneva, included the notion of the linguistic sign, the signifier, the signified, and the referent. Charles Sanders Peirce (1839/9/10- 1914/4/19) proposed "Triadic Sign Relation" the semiotics concept. In 1944, Ernst Cassirer (1874/7/28-1945/4/13) published An Essay on Man -- An Introduction to a Philosophy o(Human
Culture, which brings semiotics as philosophical logic. Become a tool in the humanities and a change to the scientific humanities. LI You-zheng states in
philosophical semiotics, " ... After 1960, the humanities, 'scientific' to strengthen all-round, almost all disciplines in the discourse are undergoing the process of precision ... more and more with the type of scientific disciplines". In the application
of the semiotics' concept, there has been Folklore Analysis, Anthropology, and Semiotics of Art.... What is Music Semiotics? This ancient discipline has always been "qiao men zhuan" (a knocking stone) to study various cultures, so could we re-interpret the music theory by the perspective of semiotics?
Because of evolution in religion and humanities, there was a gradual development of the concept of the Harmony in European music. This is the key point of the History of Western Music and this philosophical concept is derived from Nativism and Empiricism. Is Harmony an innate perception, or an acquired perception? Harmonic theory is strict and meticulous, loaded with the musical discourse of one time and another. . It is the teaching of music's most influential theory, leading the teaching of music. Today, the author will divided this study into three levels of harmonic theory; (a) the theory of the philosophical concept, (b) learning system of Harmonic theory, and (c) the actual music. The purpose of the study was to project the music semiotics, assess harmony' roles and functions, and explore the problems of music theory. Documentation analysis and scenarios analysis were employed as research methods.
