D 類音訊放大器其高效率、低功耗的特點,除了為可攜式電子產品系統帶來 更長的電池壽命之外,散熱片之面積較小的優點,也讓 D 類音訊放大器在非可 攜式的應用上受重視[28],例如 LCD 平面電視,由於 LCD 的畫面品質與其環境 溫度有相當大的關係,且平面電視空間有限,使用傳統類比功率放大器時,其散 熱設計上較為困難,若設計不良將產生熱點(hot spot),使 LCD 顯示不平均(見 [18])。因此 D 類功率放大器在這方面的應用佔有絕對的優勢,而本平台正好提 供此方面應用之解決方法。

本文所提及之D 類放大器系統平台由於採用全橋式功率放大器,並不存在 直流偏壓,因此其效率高達83 %,較 A 類放大器的 25%及 AB 類放大器的 40~60%

高。再者由於平台採用1.5-位元運算,故於切換次數上更大幅降低,對於 MOS 元件的使用壽命以及熱能的產生皆有所改善。

綜觀平台整體效果,其適合於大功率輸出之裝置,且成本低,體積小,可應 用於手提音響,車用音響設備,以及數位電視等地方。
