city (Songshan district). In addition, Taiwan Tourism Bureau plans to broaden the function of domestic airport, including Hualien, Magong, Kinmem, Taitung, and Taichung to extend the service to international flights.

Besides, the air transportation connects to the external aspect while the domestic transportation covers short, middle and long term services. In long term transportation, there are railway system and high speed railway system. The former provides

transportation connection between most of the counties in Taiwan island through the variety of choice on purpose and speed of the train, such as local train, Fu-Hsing Semi Express, Chu-Kuang Express, and Tze-Chiang Limited Express. In addition to the four expresses, Taiwan Railways Administration also provides small train with slower speed for tourists to enjoy the tourism trip, including the line in A-li Mountain, Jiji, Pingxi, and Neiwan. While the high speed railway offers speed over 300 km/h in the western part of Taiwan with several stops, such as Taipei, Banchiao, Hsinchu,

Taichung, Chaiyi, Tainan, and Zuoying, which in turns shortesns the distance between the northern part and southern peak of Taiwan could be able to commute in a day.

On the other hand, the middle term transportation covers service covers shuttle bus, and mass rapid transportation system. The shuttle bus service in Taiwan are mainly run by the private own enterprises to commute between the north and south freeway as well as Provincial freeway. Those private own enterprises includes

Guoguang bus, Ubus, Free Go bus, Aloha bus, and Ho-Hsin Bus. Among these private own enterprises shuttle bus service, Guoguang bus provides the most comprehensive commute service toward from International airport, such as Taoyuan international airport and Taipei international (Songshan) airport within an hour transportation. On the other hand, in Taipei area and Kaohsiung city, the Mass Rapid Transportation (MRT) system also provides commute transportation between the main districts within the city. For instance, Taipei MRT system provides five lines, covering the transportation service between Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center-Taipei Zoo;

Tamshui-Xiangshan; Songshan-Xindian; Nanshijiao-Huilong and Nanshijiao-Luzhou;

and Yongnig-Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. On the other hand, MRT in

Kaohsiung provides only two lines, one from Gangshan South-Siaogang and the other commute from Sizihwan-Dailiao. The MRT system in Taipei and Kaohgiung not only provides rapid and middle distance transportation service for local citizens, but also offers short term period visitors with special ticket services for tourism purposes. In addition, the MRT system could also connect with the local bus system to provide the transferring service into the place nearby the MRT stations.

Finally, for the short term transportation, the service that Taiwan covers in most of the domestic counties are car rental service as well as shuttle bus for tourism purpose. The taxi rental service provides short term commute service within the

county, but most of the bus drivers could not seal in English. Therefore, in order to prevent the quarrel in transaction in taxi rental service, Taiwan Tourism Bureau in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung has provided hotline for rental service dispute. On the transportation service of shuttle bus, the service could be divided into two, including Taiwan Tourist Shuttle service and Taiwan Tour Bus. The former provides connection between the commute service between railway or high speed railway stations and the main tourist resort around Taiwan and even the outlying island.12 The latter served as the service combination between Taiwan Tourism Bureau and private owned tourism agency, which covers the area from Northern, Middle, Southern and Eastern part and also outlying areas of Taiwan. Through the whole way transportation includes much of the tourism resorts in Taiwan and the tour guide service (Chinese, English and Japanese language), Taiwan Tourism Bureau and the private owned tourism agency planned to provide customized tourism service in Taiwan for the domestic and international tourists.13
