There are research limitations and future research directions.

1. The data collection was based on an online survey, which has benefits but also potential pitfalls. Respondents could reply to the survey randomly. In the future, it is suggested that a mixed methodology is used, including qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, focused group) and quantitative methods (paper questionnaire) to increase data quality.

2. The survey was conducted within a month time period. Due to time limitation, the sample size was limited as well. Future surveys can extend the time period to enhance the return rates of questionnaires and also increase the sample size.

3. Future research could focus on a specific brand and analyze the brand-consumer relationship in more depth.
