5.3 Limitations and Suggestions for Future Research
There are some limitations in the present study. First, the number of topic chains collected for analysis is far from sufficient. For a more detailed study, larger data is needed. Second, the sources of data are quite limited, too. In the present study, only magazine data and textbook data are collected. However, different genres have different characteristics. Other genres, such as news articles, translation contest prize-winning works, or business letters might show different translation strategies.
Third, the correlation between types of topic chains and the translation strategies is not explored in detail in the present study due to the small number of data. The directions mentioned above await further investigation in the future.
