5.2 R ESEARCH C ONTRIBUTIONS AND S UGGESTIONS
(1) Research Contributions
1. This study finds the difference in the influence of the variables of elementary school teachers’ personality trait anxiety and information literacy on mobile computer self-efficacy.
2. This study finds the difference in the influence of the variables of elementary school teachers’ personality trait anxiety and information literacy on mobile computer anxiety.
3. The correlation and path coefficient between elementary school teachers’ mobile computer self-efficacy and mobile computer anxiety are obtained.
4. The correlation and path coefficient between elementary school teachers’ mobile computer self-efficacy and mobile computer anxiety and use intention of mobile computer in teaching are obtained.
(2) Research Suggestions
As current knowledge and technology change with each passing day, it is important to
improve elementary school teachers’ use intention of mobile computer in teaching, integrate information with teaching, and improve learning interest and effectiveness. After considering the research results and actual situations, research suggestions are provided as follows:
1. This study find that the order of the importance of factors is mobile computer anxiety (MCA)>information literacy (IL)>use intention of mobile computer in teaching (UI). The most important factor is the mobile computer anxiety perceived by teachers. To avoid the generation of mobile computer anxiety of all the elementary school teachers, the priority is to eliminate teachers’ sense of fear for mobile computer or 3C technological products.
The simplification of the operational interface of computer software, which makes it easy for every teacher to learn to use computer is the best way to solve mobile computer anxiety. In addition, the improvement of teachers’ information literacy should include weekly information-related courses in elementary school to strengthen the teaching, usage, and introduction of computer. If the mobile computer teaching system can provide the teachers with useful information for teaching at the right moment, teachers’ use intention of mobile computer in teaching will be increased as well.
2. In terms of the evaluation by the factor of time, elementary school teachers may also have difference use motivations. The differences in factors such as teaching hours and class guidance between homeroom teachers and subject teachers will result in the differences in
their effective allocation of teaching hours and advanced learning, which further influences their use intention of mobile computer in teaching. Tseng (2000) indicated that the junior high school teachers of sufficient time had higher use motivation and use intention. It is suggested that the Bureau of Education or the schools should increase the effective teaching hours and advanced learning hours to improve elementary school teachers’ use intention of mobile computer in teaching, integrate information with teaching, and improve the learning interest and effectiveness.
3. This study is mainly presented by the quantitative analysis. Future studies can use qualitative research to enrich the study, and avoid the bias caused by quantitative research to further obtain the valuable comments from the teachers and to expand this study.
4. There are still some restrictions in this study, such as manpower, time, and material resources. Therefore, this study fails to include all types of schools in Taiwan into the research scope. Future studies can expand the research scope and increase the sample size to reduce the deviation and enrich the research results.
