In this article, we have discussed the motivating factors that drove MNEs to invest in a foreign country other than the home country. As pointed out by Dunning (1993), the main motive behind MNEs to endeavor in FDI is the search of new markets, resources and greater efficiency. There are other factor like, the policies and attractive policies provided by home and host country government, favorable business environment, governance infrastructure policies, fiscal incentives, political institutions and of course the willingness of MNEs too that have significant effect on both FDI inflow and outflow of countries.

Apart from motivating factors, the utmost priorities for MNEs are how to succeed while engaging in FDI. The various results obtained related to the success determinants raised in the propositions from variety perspectives highlights the fact that MNEs can enhance their chances of success. (1) Home country government by expanding political and economic influence, search for important resources and better location for pollution intensive industries will provide a strong support for MNEs to endeavor in FDI; (2) Host country government through establishment of FDI promotional measures and provisions of attractive tax incentives will attract MNEs to invest in her countries; (3) MNEs themselves possess political/business ties, cultural similarities/ethnic ties equipped with international experience;

and (4) the onset of global crisis followed by other calamities will determine MNEs success in FDI.

As discussed in this article, if the answers of the above questions are mostly positive, MNEs will definitely increase their chances of success in the foreign country.
