Chapter V: Conclusion and suggestions

5.4 Suggestions for future research

The findings of this study show that the effects of Vietnamese mothers on their children are not significant. However, the study also reveals that Vietnamese mothers have minor role in educating their children and teaching them Vietnamese language. Based on the results of this study, it suggests that in the future researches it could focus more on Vietnamese mother education background. And in the future study, it should employed more methods to collect more data. For example, it can record daily conversation of transnational marriage families to see how

the Vietnamese mothers use Chinese language such as word usage, grammar and pronunciation.

In the future research, it should interview school teachers in order to have more opinions about the new Taiwanese children.
