My school sponsors a search and rescue dog. Search and rescue dogs are very important. They find people who are lost.

They also look for survivors. Sometimes, the dogs go to dangerous and scary places. For example, many dogs looked for survivors after the tragedy in New York on September 11, 2001. One famous dog named Dusty was there. She searched for many hours. She even kept searching after she fell! Search and rescue dogs are strong and brave. They save many people.
