本研究於自中國大陸貴州省羅甸縣境內之納水、羅悃及納嬈剖面採 取碳酸鹽岩標本,分析其穩定碳同位素之組成,以探討同一海盆,但不 同地點、不同沉積環境間穩定碳同位素作為地層對比的可行性。
除分析碳酸鹽岩的穩定碳同位素,觀察三個剖面採集的碳酸鹽岩標 本顏色,發現深色碳酸鹽岩(深水相)的碳、氧同位素數值都較其他淺色碳 酸鹽岩(淺水相)的碳、氧同位素數值分別重約 0~2‰、0.1~4.5‰。
本研究當中三個剖面變化趨勢與碳酸鹽岩的顏色有關,當有淺色碳 酸鹽岩沉積時,顯示為較淺水相的沉積環境,其碳同位素變化幅度較大,
但變化趨勢是相同的,因此沉積環境的不同或改變會造成碳同位素地層 對比上碳同位素變化幅度的落差,但整體變化趨勢是一樣的。
在本研究與中國、全球的碳同位素對比上,碳同位素記錄變化趨勢 與幅度大致相同,當冰期發展時,碳同位素數值會呈現正偏移現象,惟 冰期時淺水相剖面的碳同位素因暴露受成岩作用影響,其碳同位素變化 會呈現負偏移線相且變化幅度較大。
本研究對比結果顯示碳酸鹽岩的穩定碳同位素地層可以用來作為輔 佐地層對比的工具,不論是深水相或淺水相的剖面,其碳同位素地層正 偏移在全球尺度上可以相互對比,並與有機碳的大量埋藏、冰川的擴張 或縮減等地質事件有關。惟進行淺水相剖面的穩定碳同位素地層對比時,
需考慮該剖面是否有暴露出地表受成岩作用影響改變其碳同位素數值。
