以 87 年到 96 年的機車事故之頭部外傷駕駛與乘客分析,駕駛與 乘客在性別、年齡、有無安全帽之使用以及使用安全帽之形式分佈有 差異
而在傷害部位上駕駛相較乘客頭部外傷合併發生胸部、腹部與頸 椎骨折的危險度較高。
駕駛以及乘客在 GCS 分數、GOS、住院天數以及住加護病房天 數在統計上沒有差異 。

一、從頭部外傷資料中無法進行同一事故中的駕駛與乘客的傷害差異 比較,僅能從病歷所登錄之駕駛與乘客做分析,無法得知駕駛在 有無共乘乘客時對發生事故的傷害部位與嚴重度是否有差異。
二、所有受傷之駕駛與乘客均為頭部外傷住院患者,不能類推到所有 機車事故之駕駛與乘客,只能依據頭部外傷問卷擁有的變項進行 分析,無法對病患其他的傷害有較詳細的了解。
三、本研究所收集之個案,僅包含頭部外傷後到院治療以及住院死亡 之個案,對於未到院治療或當場死亡之個案則未能包含在內,因 此對於全國外傷性腦受傷的發生與死亡情形可能會有低估的現 象。
四、由於車禍受傷個案的病歷中並未紀錄受傷者使用的機車車型,因 此無法得知車型如併腿式之速克達(scooter)或是跨坐式機車對頭
