In order to accommodate all full-time post-graduate students who wished to live on campus, 229 rooms designed for single-occupancy in PG Hall II were converted to double occupancy as a temporary measure. The difficulties caused by such crowding will be resolved when new post-graduate residences under construction are com-pleted toward the end of 1996.
Efforts to improve the quality of hall life re-sulted in the creation of two new cQmmunica-tion channels for hall residents: Bridge Link, a monthly newsletter, and weekly hall forums de-signed to encourage dialogue between students, wardens, tutors, and management representatives.
Graduate Employment
An online job information centre was launched in 1995 to provide information about employ-ment opportunities for graduates of all seven tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Supported by the seven institutions, the Joint Institutional Job Information System is hosted by HKUST.
An employment survey of the second under-graduate class to graduate indicated that 955 members of the Class of 1995 were employed full-time by 31 December 1995, while another 111 were pursuing full-time postgraduate study. To-gether they constitute approximately 97% of the class.
