of international finance. The establishment of AIIB is the new challenge to the old international economic order which was constructed by the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the domination of developed countries, such as US, European countries and Japan, hence it is worth to analyze the causes of AIIB’s establishment and its international political as well as economic implications after its formal opening. The article analyzes topics as above by utilizing realism, rational functionalism and cognitivism in the field of international relations theory and through power, interests, and knowledge-based approaches to explain the causes which were contributed to China’s successful promotion on the establishment of AIIB, and its international political and economic implications after the formal opening of AIIB.
