2.2 Framework of Statistical Indicator System for Moderate Economic Diversification of Macao
The statistical indicator system for moderate economic diversification of Macao is divided into eight parts, containing principal statistical indicators on the respective aspects, to facilitate analysis of economic diversity of Macao from multiple perspectives.
Part 1: Overview of the Industrial Structure
This part includes statistical indicators on production-based gross domestic product, industrial structure and the entropy index of economic diversity that measures the degree of diversity of economic activities, to reflect, at a macro-level, the total value of goods and services produced by different industries in Macao in the accounting period, the relative importance of the industries to the economy and the degree of diversity of the industrial structure.

Part 3: Business Diversity of Gaming Concessionaires
This part provides statistical indicators, including (1) receipts from gaming and non-gaming activities of gaming concessionaires and their relative importance; (2) floor area occupied for gaming and non-gaming activities on premises of gaming concessionaires, and (3) number and receipts of establishments operated by non-gaming enterprises on premises of gaming concessionaires. The above information reflects the receipts from all non-gaming activities on premises of gaming concessionaires, which helps to assess the contribution of non-gaming activities generated on premises of gaming concessionaires.

This part presents statistical indicators that measure the development of the emerging industries in Macao (including the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector, cultural industries, the Chinese medicine sector, as well as modern financial business of which the data are provided by AMCM), such as number of establishments, number of employed persons, receipts and business overview.
