New Information Display
Technologies on Show
New development in liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and other display technologies will be unveiled at the Fourth Asian Symposium on Information Display, to be held at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on 13 and 14 February.
The keynote address will be delivered by Prof S. Kobayashi of the Science University of Tokyo, known as the "father of the LCD industry in Japan", which leads the world in LCD production. With 20% of the world's LCD production in 1995, Hong Kong is set to capture a growing share of the world market. The symposium will be attended by more than 200 delegates, including 60 from Japan, Korea and Taiwan, and 30 from the Chinese Mainland.
Mr Francis Ho, JP, Director-General of the Hong Kong Industry Department, will open the symposium.
The symposium is sponsored by IEEE-Hong Kong, the Society for Information Display, the Institute for Electronics, information and Communications Engineers (Japan), the Institute of Television Engineers (Japan), the Hong Kong Government Industry Department, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
