New Art On-Line at HKUST
Art in cyberspace goes on-line at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, when the exhibition, WebWise<>ArtsSites, opens on 21 March.Multimedia arts from Germany and Britain created on CD-ROM, disk and the Internet will be set up on a bank of computers for visitors to explore and, in some cases, add their own artworks.
WebWise<>ArtSites is co-presented by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Goethe-Institut Hong Kong, the British Council and Transmedia/VideoFest, Berlin.
The exhibition will be opened by Prof Chia-Wei Woo, President of HKUST, Dr Uwe Nitschke, Director of the Goethe-Institut Hong Kong, and Mr Tom Buchanan, Director of the British Council in Hong Kong.

The exhibition is open to the public from 22 March - 11 April 1997, 1-5 pm (Mon-Fri), 10 am - 6 pm (Sat, Sun and public holidays). Exhibition curator Knut Gerwers will give a public talk on
WebWise<>ArtSites on Saturday, 22 March 1997, at 2:30 pm in the exhibition venue.
