STH INTF RNATICNAL CONFFRFNCF ON NFW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ‘92
Exciting advances in all areas of new technology and information management have made : I, :
._- the services of libraries and information centres available to their users at an unprecedented level . The 5th international Conference -on New Information Technology ‘92, to be held from 30 November to 2 December at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, will feature developments in telecommunication networks, electronic publishing, and interactive multimedia technologies. Together with integrated library and information systems, all these new advances have provided librarians and information specialists with extraordinary capabilities for more effective and efficient information management and services. Interactive multimedia also provides tremendous potential for research, education and training.
To help librarians and information specialists keep up with the dynamic changes affecting their profession, the conference will exhibit some of the newest information systems, products, equipment, and services currently available. Sessions will include invited and contributed papers; and participants are expected from U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Thailand, Czechoslovakia, Mainland China and Taiwan.
