(7) . Abstract The purpose of this study is to develop an online testing system based on the information competence indicators for senior high school students. The test aims to achieve the following two results: provide students a way to review their own basic information skills and learning outcomes, and help teachers diagnose the effectiveness of their teaching. After the instruction of each unit there is a formative assessment. The test bank of this system was constructed according to the information ability index and classified into eight units. The testing system allows teachers to customize the item questions in the test bank. The testing system’s accessibility and feedback mechanism allows students to be sure of their own learning achievement. Two years of results and feedback from both students and teachers has been recorded and analyzed. Along with the results, concrete suggestions for future development of online testing systems have been included. Keywords: information literacy, digital divide, competence indicators. 1.
